An indispensable appointment ( 1 PART )
*Human Interest*
Valerie's eyes widened as she stared at her phone, her heart racing. She was already late for the most important appointment of her life and now this! A glitch in the phone book had made it impossible for her to find the number she desperately needed. She tried everything she could think of to fix it but nothing seemed to work.
Suddenly, Mayla, her best friend, burst into the room, looking impatient. Valerie felt a mixture of relief and dread wash over her. Relief because Mayla was here to help, dread because she knew exactly how Mayla tended to help in situations like these.
*Story*
"You're late," Mayla said, her voice flat. It was an accusation disguised as a statement. Valerie winced, knowing she deserved it but wishing her friend would cut her some slack.
"I know, I know," she muttered, still trying to fix the phone. "I just can't seem to find the number."
Mayla rolled her eyes. "Why don't you just call them from the number you have?" she suggested, her tone making it clear that she didn't believe Valerie was trying hard enough.
"I can't," Valerie said, exasperated. "That's why I need the number in the first place!"
Mayla sighed, clearly frustrated with her friend's incompetence. Suddenly, she had an idea. "Why don't you just tickle me?" she said, looking at Valerie with a mischievous glint in her eye.
Valerie blinked in surprise. "What?" she asked, confused.
"You know," Mayla said, grinning. "You always tickle me when I'm stressed. Maybe it'll help you relax enough to think clearly."
Valerie hesitated, knowing that Mayla wasn't exactly known for her subtlety when it came to emotional support. But at this point, she was willing to try anything.
*Action*
Slowly, Mayla unbuttoned her jeans and slipped them off, revealing her bare legs. Valerie's heart raced as she watched her friend's movements, unsure of what to expect.
"Start with my sides," Mayla said, taking a deep breath. "I promise I can take it."
Tentatively, Valerie reached out and began to tickle Mayla's sides. She could feel her friend's muscles tensing under her touch, but Mayla didn't flinch or try to stop her. Encouraged, Valerie moved higher, tickling Mayla's ribs and armpits.
Mayla let out a soft giggle, but she didn't resist. Valerie felt a rush of excitement as she realized that she was actually helping her friend. Maybe there was something to this tickling thing after all.
*Emotions*
As Valerie's fingers danced across Mayla's skin, she felt a sense of power and control that she hadn't experienced before. She could see the tension draining from Mayla's body, replaced by laughter and relief. It was intoxicating.
Mayla's laughter echoed through the room, filling the air with joy and release. Valerie couldn't help but smile as she watched her friend let go of her worries and surrender to the tickling.
*Resolution*
After several minutes of tickling, Valerie finally managed to find the number she needed. She quickly called it, her heart pounding with anticipation. To her relief, the person on the other end of the line was able to help her with her problem.
As she hung up the phone, Valerie looked at Mayla, who was still giggling softly to herself. She felt a rush of gratitude and affection for her friend. Without Mayla's unique brand of support, she might never have found the courage to confront her fears and tackle her problems head-on.
"Thanks, Mayla," she said, giving her friend a hug. "I don't know what I would have done without you."
Mayla wrapped her arms around Valerie and gave her a squeeze. "Anytime, sweetheart," she replied, her voice still slightly breathless from laughter. "Anytime."
