As Mayla walked into the room, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance. Her best friend Valerie was still engrossed in her phone, completely oblivious to their indispensable appointment. The tension between them was palpable as Valerie finally looked up, her eyes wide with panic.

"I'm so sorry, Mayla! I completely forgot about our appointment!" she exclaimed, her fingers frantically scrolling through her phone. "And now I have a problem with my phone book, and I need to fix it before we can go out."

Mayla bit her lip, trying to contain her anger. This wasn't the first time Valerie had made her miss out on a date because of her lateness. But before she could say anything, an idea struck her. She grinned, deciding to take matters into her own hands.

"Fine," she said, sauntering over to Valerie. "If you're so busy with your phone, why don't I help you out? I could always use some practice with my sol-"

Before she could finish her sentence, Mayla was already behind Valerie, her hands skimming up and down her friend's sides. Valerie let out a yelp, trying to focus on her phone as Mayla's touch sent shivers down her spine.

"Stop it, Mayla!" she gasped, her fingers flying over her phone screen. "I'm trying to fix this!"

But Mayla was in too deep now. She loved the feeling of power as she tickled her friend, seeing the resistance crumble before her very eyes. As Valerie started to laugh uncontrollably, Mayla took the challenge one step further, tickling her under the armpits.

"You're so resistant," she whispered into Valerie's ear, her voice laced with mirth. "I just can't get enough of it."

And she wasn't lying. Mayla loved the thrill of pushing Valerie's limits, watching as her friend tried desperately to hold back the laughter. But as the tickling intensified, Valerie couldn't hold out any longer. She collapsed onto the floor, her sides heaving with laughter, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"I give up," she gasped between breaths. "You win this round."

But Mayla wasn't satisfied yet. She knew that Valerie could always put up a good fight, and she wanted more. "Fair enough," she said, stepping back. "But let's make this interesting. How about a foot tickling challenge?"

Valerie raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "You mean, like a soles-only challenge?"

Mayla grinned. "Exactly. We'll stand against the wall, one at a time, and try to tickle each other's feet without laughing."

Valerie let out a whoop of excitement. "I'm game. But remember, I have the advantage. I'm a pro at tickling feet."

Mayla just smiled. She knew that this time, she was in for the challenge of a lifetime.
