Without hesitation, he grabbed the cuffs and sliced through them, freeing her from the vehicle. Maria fell to her knees, gasping for air and trying to process what had just happened. She looked up at him, fear etched on her face, waiting to see what he would do next.



But he simply walked away, leaving her alone in the clearing. The silence was deafening as she struggled to her feet, her heart pounding in her chest.
