The Incredible Shrinking Teacher
Ms. Frizzle's Secret Experiment
After a day of teaching about the digestive track, Ms. Frizzle comes home to relax. She's a bit worried about one of her students, Charles, who went missing during class today. As she unpacks her things, she notices a tiny speck on the floor. It's Charles!
Unable to resist the urge to see how far she can push her newfound power, Ms. Frizzle decides to experiment with Charles. She places him in a jar and brings him to her lab. Over the weekend, she continues her research, shrinking and growing him at will.
From Classroom to Flip-Flop
On Monday, Ms. Frizzle returns to school wearing a new pair of flip-flops. Little does she know, Charles has managed to hitch a ride on the bottom of her feet! As she goes about her day, she unknowingly squashes him again and again with her heel.
Charles finds himself embedded into the rubber of her flip-flops, struggling to breathe and barely conscious. He can feel every step Ms. Frizzle takes, every shift in weight as she moves. It's a terrifying and exhilarating experience all at once.
Discovery and Punishment
As the day goes on, Ms. Frizzle begins to notice something strange. She feels something small and hard beneath her feet, but she can't quite place what it is. Eventually, she decides to investigate and removes her flip-flops.
To her horror, she discovers Charles, battered and bruised, stuck to the bottom of her footwear. Enraged, she reprimands him, spitting on him and squashing him underfoot. Despite his pleas for mercy, there's no escaping her wrath.
A New Role for Charles
In the end, Ms. Frizzle decides that Charles will now be her little pet. She's taking him with her on her Friday night out as punishment. As they walk down the street, everyone can see the tiny figure clinging to her flip-flop. It's a sight that sends shivers down their spines.
Charles spends his night being passed around like a hot potato, introduced to Ms. Frizzle's friends and acquaintances. He feels both terrified and exhilarated, uncertain of what's to come. All he knows is that his life will never be the same again.
