Title: Tiny Allergies
Jasper sneezes and coughs, her nose running like a tap. She can't seem to shake off the relentless pollen that has taken over her body during this lazy summer afternoon in Florida. Giving up on getting ready for her brunch date with Mia, she's resigned to her couch, a mound of tissues by her side.
Mia arrives, yelling to ask if Jasper has finally decided to get out of bed. Her voice echoes through the house, but there's no response. She walks in, brows furrowed in confusion until she sees the sight that stops her in her tracks. Jasper hasn't even put on a cute outfit!
She storms over, clearly frustrated. "Jasper, what is wrong with you? Don't you have any pride in yourself? It's our brunch date, and you're not even trying!"
Jasper stirs, her voice muffled by a tissue. "I've been trying, Mia. My allergy meds just don't seem to be working."
Mia's eyes light up, a wicked grin spreading across her face. "Maybe I have the cure," she says, pulling a bag from her purse. "Eat this, Jasper," she commands, handing her a tiny figure.
Jasper takes it, hesitant but curious. It looks like a miniature human, and when she realizes what she's holding, she's horrified. "Mia, what have I done?!" she gasps, her eyes wide with horror.
But slowly, something shifts. The horror fades, replaced by curiosity and, strangely, excitement. "Mia, where did you get these... things?" she whispers, her voice hushed with awe.
Mia grins, a wicked gleam in her eyes. "Trust me, Jasper. They're going to make you feel better than you ever have before."
As the minutes pass, Jasper starts to feel different. Her nose stops running, her itchy eyes soothe, and her throat unclenches. She looks up at Mia, amazed. "It's working! Mia, this is incredible!"
Mia smiles, pleased with herself. "I told you, Jasper. Now, how about that brunch?" She stands, holding out her hand.
Jasper takes it, still in disbelief. But as they walk towards the door, she realizes she's not just feeling better – she's feeling amazing. And for the first time in a long time, she's actually excited about their brunch date.
As they step out into the sunshine, Jasper looks down at the tiny beings still in her hand. A shiver runs down her spine, but this time, it's not from an allergy attack. It's a thrill she never knew existed.
