The Unwitting Giantess
Breakfast of Champions
As the door swings open, the girl enters her apartment, unaware of the chaos that awaits her. She's clad in a pair of yoga pants and a crop top, looking every bit the part of a fitness enthusiast. In the kitchen, she removes her phone from her pocket, ready to start her day, unaware that she's about to become the center of attention.
The Prank Begins
On the counter, a tiny figure clad in a tiny suit stands at attention, awaiting its moment. It's one of her roommates, and they've decided to play a prank on her. As she looks up from her phone, her eyes fall on the figure, and she blinks in confusion. The figure raises an arm, pointing up at her, signaling their presence.
She takes a step back, her eyes wide with disbelief, as she processes what she's seeing. She looks around the room, trying to find the source of the prank, but there's no trace of it. Her heart starts racing as she realizes that this might not be a prank after all. She takes another step back, her eyes locked on the tiny figure before her.
Panic Sets In
With shaking hands, she reaches for the figure on the counter, intending to swat it away. But as she gets closer, she starts to panic. What if it's not a prank? What if it's real? She freezes, her hand hovering just above the figure.
Suddenly, her phone rings, breaking the tense silence. She looks down at the screen, hoping it's one of her roommates calling to confess the prank. But it's an unknown number. With a deep breath, she answers the call.
The Truth Unfolds
"Hello?" she says into the phone, her voice shaking.
"Um, hi," comes the reply, sounding nervous. "Is this Ms. Jacquelyn Velvets?"
"Yes, who is this?" she asks, her heart racing.
"This is... um, my name's Ben. I'm the one on the counter."
Her eyes widen in disbelief as she looks at the tiny figure, now speaking to her on the phone. She feels a sudden rush of panic as she realizes the implications of what's happening.
She stumbles back, her hand going to her mouth. "Oh my god," she whispers. "This can't be real." But as she looks down at the figure, she sees it raise its hand, gesturing for her to come closer. With shaking fingers, she crouches down, her eyes locked on the tiny figure.
The Confrontation
"Ms. Velvets," the figure says, its voice barely audible. "I need you to listen to me. We're people, just like you. We're not a prank. Please, you have to believe us."
She stares at the figure, her mind reeling. This can't be real... but it looks so real. She looks around the room, her eyes darting from figure to figure. They're everywhere, watching her every move, pleading with her to understand.
She takes a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. "I don't know what's going on here, but I need you to leave me alone," she says, her voice shaking. "This is too much."
The Reality Sets In
As she stands up, she notices another figure on the floor, looking up at her with pleading eyes. She hesitates, her mind racing with questions. What if they're telling the truth? What if she's the only one who can see them?
She takes a step back, her heart pounding in her chest. "I need some time to process this," she says, her voice shaking. "Just... just leave me alone for a while, okay?"
As she watches the figures disappear from view, she collapses onto the floor, her mind reeling with the implications of what's happened. She feels like she's living in a nightmare, unable to wake up from the bizarre reality that's unfolding around her.
The New Normal
In the days that follow, she finds herself living in a world turned upside down. She spends her days trying to understand what's happening, while also trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in her life. She talks to the figures, learns their names, and tries to uncover the truth behind their existence.
As she grapples with her new reality, she begins to see the world through different eyes. She sees the beauty in the smallest details, the humor in the most mundane moments, and the grace in the face of adversity. She may never fully understand the mysterious forces at play, but she knows one thing for sure: this new normal is filled with wonder, surprise, and a sense of awe that she never knew existed.
