A Twisted Matchmaker Scheme
Karly's Web of Control
In the dimly lit room, Karly Salinas leaned back on her comfy couch, the warm glow of a laptop screen casting shadows on her face. She was deep in thought, fingers dancing across the keyboard as she typed out a message to her friend, Jason. It had been some time since she'd meddled with his love life - but she knew just how to make him smile.
The tiny couple who lived with her had grown close to her heart. Cindy, the woman, was like a sister to her; they shared secrets and laughed until their sides ached. Mark, her boyfriend, was more of an afterthought - just another face in the background. Until now.
A Tragic Accident
Karly's eyes flicked over to Mark, who was asleep on the coffee table. His legs twitched beneath a soft blanket; she couldn't help but feel the slightest pang of guilt. But it was worth it. She had bigger plans for him.
Her gaze drifted back to the laptop screen as she pressed send on her message to Jason. It read simply: "Hey handsome! Cindy's single again. You never know what could happen."
A Sinister Scheme
The next morning, Karly awoke to the sound of frantic voices outside her door. She threw on a robe and opened it to find Cindy in tears, Mark nowhere to be seen. "What happened?" she asked softly, her heart sinking.
Cindy's words came out in a rush: "I woke up this morning and Mark was gone. He wouldn't tell me where he was going, but I have this sick feeling in my stomach..."
A Twisted Reality
Karly's heart raced as she realized the gravity of her actions. She had planned to simply make Mark disappear, not harm him. But it was too late now. She knew what she had to do.
With a calm demeanor she hadn't felt in years, Karly sat Cindy down and told her what had happened. The tiny woman's eyes went wide with shock and horror, but Karly held her ground. "I know this is hard to hear," she said softly, "but I think it's best if we don't look for him anymore."
A Final Act of Control
As the days turned into weeks, Karly found herself growing more and more comfortable with her newfound power. She basked in the look of devastation on Cindy's face whenever she mentioned Mark, knowing that she was the one who had taken him away.
And so, she continued to play matchmaker, pairing Cindy with Jason and watching as their love blossomed. All the while, she knew that deep down, Mark was nothing more than a memory - a secret she would take to her grave.
