Title: A Growing Wish
In a small, dimly lit room, the only source of illumination coming from a single lamp hanging from the ceiling, a man sat on a stiff, unyielding chair. His eyes were closed, his breathing slow and steady, and on his face was an expression of calm anticipation. He clutched something tightly in his lap, and it was clear that he was lost in thought.
The door to the room creaked open, and in walked a woman dressed in a maid outfit that hugged her figure tightly. Her name was Rosalind, and she was known for being particularly thorough when it came to cleaning. Today was no different. She carried a bucket of soapy water and a mop, ready to clean the floor. Her eyes fell upon the man sitting in the chair, and she couldn't help but notice the object he held close to his chest. It looked like a small, round object, which she couldn't quite make out from her position.
"Excuse me, sir," she said, her voice soft and polite. "I'm here to clean the room. May I have your permission to continue?"
The man opened his eyes and looked up at her. His face broke into a warm smile, and he nodded. "Of course, Rosalind," he said. "Please, continue with your work."
Rosalind walked over to the man and placed the bucket and the mop beside the door. She leaned over, her cleavage almost spilling out of her uniform as she picked up the object in his lap. It was a small, shiny orb, no bigger than a tennis ball. She recognized it immediately. It was one of those wishing stones that were popular in some parts of the world. The man must have made a wish, she thought to herself with a smile.
Without saying a word, she walked back to the door, picked up the mop, and began to clean the floor. Her mind wandered as she worked, thinking about the man and his wish. She wondered what he wished for. Love? Money? Happiness? As she scrubbed the floor, she couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building within her.
After a few minutes of cleaning, she looked up and saw that the man had closed his eyes again. He seemed to be deep in thought. Curiosity getting the better of her, she decided to take a peek at the wishing stone. Carefully, she picked it up and turned it over in her hands, her fingers tracing the smooth surface. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head.
She set the stone down on the floor, leaned over, and whispered softly to the man. "Sir, I have an idea. Why don't you make another wish? You never know, it might just come true."
The man opened his eyes and looked at her, a twinkle of mischief in his eyes. "You know," he said, his voice low and husky, "I think I might just take you up on that offer."
