With a deep breath, she stepped towards the parents, the shrunken figure hidden in her palm. "I'm so sorry, I think I might have accidentally stepped on him earlier," she said, her voice shaking. "I'll take care of him, don't worry."



As she spoke, she slipped the tiny figure into her pocket, hoping against hope that they wouldn't notice. The parents seemed to relax a little, their eyes still filled with worry but less intense now. They thanked Evelyn and left, trusting that their son was in good hands.



Fear gripped her as she walked back into the room, wondering what would happen next. She couldn't help but feel a sense of dread as she thought about the consequences of her actions. But for now, all she could do was wait, and hope that everything would be okay.
