Now, as the clock ticked away and the struggling duo fought against their bindings, a cat-and-mouse game of power and control was playing out before their very eyes. The impertinence of it! One minute they were on top of the world, the next they were trussed up like Christmas turkeys, their every move monitored and manipulated by their captors.

She had to get to that phone before it was too late.
