GTSDelights - The Long Month
Chapter 1: The Accident
It had been a long and tiresome day for Sarah. She had spent hours studying for her upcoming exams, trying to understand complex formulas and prepare for questions she might not even encounter in the test. Her body ached from sitting in the same position for so long, and her eyes burned from staring at the textbooks. All she wanted was to crawl into bed, curl up under the covers, and forget about her responsibilities for a few hours.
As she walked home from the library, Sarah's mind was elsewhere, lost in thoughts of the upcoming semester and how she was going to manage her time better. She didn't notice the wet pavement until her foot slipped, and she felt herself starting to lose her balance.
Panic set in as she tried to regain her footing, but it was too late. She fell hard onto the pavement, her books flying everywhere. Pain shot through her body as she landed on her outstretched hand, the impact jarring her bones. She lay there for a moment, struggling to catch her breath, tears stinging the corners of her eyes.
Slowly, Sarah managed to push herself up onto her elbows, wincing as she did so. Her hand throbbed where she had landed on it, and she was sure she'd have a bruise in the morning. She glanced around, looking for her books. Most of them were scattered around her, their pages torn and crumpled from the fall.
Just then, a car pulled up alongside her. A man in his late twenties got out, looking concerned. "Are you okay?" he asked, kneeling down next to her. He was tall and muscular, his dark hair disheveled. He had kind eyes, the kind that made her instinctively trust him.
Sarah nodded, doing her best to hide the pain. "I-I think so," she managed to say through gritted teeth. "Just a bit shaken up."
The man reached out a hand, helping her to her feet. She took it gratefully, letting him support her weight. "Can I help you gather your things?" he offered, looking at the scattered books on the ground.
"Thank you," Sarah whispered, her voice still shaky. "I don't know what I would have done without your help."
Together, they collected her books, brushing them off as best they could. "Do you want me to walk you home?" the man asked, his tone gentle. "You don't look like you're in any condition to continue walking alone."
Sarah hesitated for a moment, unsure. She knew she should probably decline; after all, they had just met, and she didn't want to put herself in an awkward situation. But the pain in her hand was intense, and she wasn't sure she could make it home on her own.
"Okay," she finally said, swallowing hard. "If you wouldn't mind."
Chapter 2: A Surprising Invitation
The man walked with Sarah to her apartment building, making sure she was comfortable along the way. They chatted about nothing in particular, getting to know each other slowly. Sarah learned that his name was Jack, and he was a graphic designer who had just moved to town for a new job.
As they approached her building, Sarah began to feel more self-conscious about the state she was in. Her clothes were rumpled, her hair was a mess, and her hand was still throbbing. She was grateful for Jack's kindness but worried about what he would think of her.
Just as she was about to step away from him, unsure of what to do next, Jack reached out and gently placed his hand on her arm. "Would you like to come up for a cup of tea?" he asked, his eyes filled with concern. "I just moved into an apartment across the street, and I'm still getting settled in. It would be nice to have some company."
Sarah hesitated, torn between her instincts and the desperate need for comfort. On one hand, she didn't know this man well enough to trust him; on the other hand, her hand was still hurting, and she knew she needed to take care of it.
Finally, she nodded. "Okay," she whispered. "Thank you for your help today, and yes, I'd love to come up for tea."
Chapter 3: The Unexpected Encounter
Sarah followed Jack up to his apartment, her heart racing with nervous anticipation. She had never been one to trust strangers easily, but something about Jack made her feel safe. Maybe it was his kind eyes or the way he had taken care of her after her fall.
As they walked into his apartment, Sarah couldn't help but let out a soft gasp. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before. The walls were covered in vivid paintings, each one more stunning than the last. The furniture was modern and sleek, with lots of soft fabrics and comfortable cushions.
"Wow," she breathed, looking around. "This is amazing."
Jack smiled, a proud look on his face. "Thank you," he said, walking over to a small table in the corner of the room. "I did most of the painting myself. I've always had a knack for art."
He busied himself with making tea, his back to Sarah. She took a moment to look around some more, admiring his work. She could feel his eyes on her, and she couldn't help but wonder what he was thinking.
Chapter 4: The Unlikely Attraction
As Jack handed Sarah a steaming cup of tea, Sarah couldn't help but notice how handsome he looked from behind. His broad shoulders filled out his shirt perfectly, and she couldn't help but imagine what it would be like to run her fingers through his dark hair. She felt a blush creeping up her cheeks as she realized the direction her thoughts were going.
They sat down on the plush couch together, the silence thick between them. Sarah took a sip of tea, trying to calm her racing heart. She felt so out of her element, but at the same time, she couldn't deny the strange pull she felt towards Jack.
"So," Jack said finally, breaking the silence. "Tell me more about yourself, Sarah."
Sarah smiled, feeling a bit more at ease now that the conversation had started. She told Jack about her studies, her hopes and dreams for the future. She found herself opening up to him in a way she hadn't with anyone in a long time.
As the tea began to cool, Sarah found herself leaning closer to Jack, drawn to him in a way she couldn't explain. She could feel the heat radiating off his body, and she wondered what it would be like to be closer still.
Chapter 5: The Shocking Revelation
Just as Sarah was about to take another sip of tea, Jack reached out and gently brushed her hand away from her cup. She looked at him, confused. Was something wrong?
"Sarah," Jack said, his voice low and steady. "I have something I need to tell you."
Her heart began to race again, but this time, it was out of fear rather than anticipation. What could he possibly need to tell her?
"I... I don't know if I'm ready for this," she stammered, pulling away from him slightly. "Please, just tell me what it is."
Jack took a deep breath, his Adam's apple bobbing nervously in his throat. "I'm not really sure how to say this," he began, his voice barely above a whisper. "But I think I might be... into giants."
Sarah's eyes widened in shock. "You're into GIANTS?" she squeaked, unable to believe what she was hearing. "But... but that's impossible!"
Jack reached out and grabbed her hand, his grip firm yet gentle. "I know it sounds crazy," he said. "But I can't deny how I feel any longer. I've been drawn to them for as long as I can remember."
Sarah pulled her hand away, her mind reeling. This was too much to process. She stood up abruptly, her movements jerky and awkward. "I... I think I should go," she said, her voice trembling. "Thank you for the tea, Jack. But I think it's time for me to leave."
