[Sugawara-Ya] Futile Resistance Part 1: Distraught and Struggling
The moment Kanon saw the door crack open, her heart began to race. There was no time to think; she had to act fast. Fujikawa, the cunning executive, stood in front of his desk with a smug grin on his face, flanked by his intimidating bodyguard. The tension in the room was palpable as they took in her presence.
Kanon tried to maintain composure, but it was clear from the tremor in her voice that she was shaken. "I-I'm sorry, sir. I thought I heard something and came to check." She stuttered, her gaze darting between the two men.
Fujikawa narrowed his eyes, his nostrils flaring slightly. "And what was it that you thought you heard?" He asked, his tone dangerously low.
"N-Nothing, sir. Just a mistake on my part." Kanon replied, her cheeks flushing with fear.
The bodyguard took a menacing step forward, placing himself directly in front of Kanon. His fingers flexed, revealing the sharp blades hidden beneath his sleeves. "Perhaps we should make sure there's no mistake," he growled, his voice echoing off the walls.
Kanon felt herself shrinking under his gaze, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that she was no match for these two men, but she couldn't let them find out about the evidence she had discovered. With a sudden burst of courage, she lunged towards the door, desperate to escape.
But it was too late. The bodyguard was faster, his hand clamping down on her shoulder, immobilizing her. Kanon struggled against his grip, tears welling up in her eyes as she felt the cold metal of the blade pressing against her throat.
"Now, now, no need for that," Fujikawa said calmly, his voice cutting through the tension. "Let's just have a little chat, shall we?" He stepped closer, his face mere inches from Kanon's trembling form. "Tell me, my dear assistant, what exactly were you doing in my office?"
