She reaches into a nearby cage, her hand disappearing from sight. When she pulls it back out, she's holding a tiny, helpless creature that squirms in her grasp.
"This is Squeaky," she says, holding the creature up for you to see. "She's very small and fragile, but she's also very loyal." She places Squeaky gently on the ground in front of you, and the tiny creature scurries up your leg, seeking safety in your lap.
Keri steps back, observing you as you interact with Squeaky. She watches closely, her gaze unwavering. You can feel her eyes on you, and it sends shivers down your spine.
"Now, let's see what else I have," she says, reaching into another cage. This time, she pulls out something much bigger. It's a large, furry creature that looks like a cross between a bear and a wolf. It roars at you, showing off its sharp teeth.
"This is Bruiser," Keri says, her voice calm despite the creature's ferocity. "He's very strong and protective." She walks over to the cage, opening it and letting Bruiser out.
As soon as he's free, Bruiser turns towards you, his eyes locked on yours. You can feel the power emanating from him, and it's both terrifying and exhilarating. For a moment, you're not sure what he'll do.
But then, something unexpected happens. Keri steps in between you and Bruiser, placing herself between the two of you. She looks at you with a softness in her eyes that you haven't seen before.
"You know," she says, her voice gentle, "you don't have to choose." She reaches out, running her hand over your cheek. You feel her warmth, her strength. "You can stay with me, and we can be together."
The tension in the air is palpable as she leans in, her lips just inches from yours. For a moment, everything stands still. And then, she kisses you, her lips soft and warm against yours. You can feel her heartbeat, strong and steady, as she holds you close.
As the kiss ends, you look up at her, feeling both overwhelmed and completely alive. She smiles down at you, her eyes filled with love and affection. "Welcome home, my pet."
