As I sat down to dinner with my stepfamily, an unusual atmosphere settled in. The table was quiet, and my stepson, usually chattering away about his day, was unusually subdued. Something felt off. As I looked up from my plate, I noticed him sneaking off towards the bathroom, looking worried. Little did I know, this seemingly innocent move would change everything.
