Chloe's eyes widened in disbelief as the man, Mr. Joshua Mightwhite, wrapped a tight bandana around her mouth, pinning her lips together. She struggled against the ropes that held her hog-tied on the floor, trying to free herself from his grip. But it was no use. Every time she squirmed, he would only tighten the knots around her wrists and ankles.
"You're making a mistake, Joshua," she spat out through the gag, her voice muffled by the cloth. "I'm a detective. I'll put you away for good."
His laugh was cold and heartless. "Detective, huh? You're nothing but a nosy little girl who got in over her head." He walked away, leaving her bound and gagged on the floor.
Chloe tried to pull at the ropes, but they were too tight. She tugged at her gag, trying to loosen it, but it only dug deeper into her mouth. She could feel the warmth of her cheeks flushing with anger and frustration.
"You'll never get away with this, Joshua," she mumbled through the gag. "I'll escape, and I'll take you down with me."
But as the hours passed, and she remained tied up in the basement, she began to doubt her own words. Was she strong enough to break free? Or had she underestimated Mr. Mightwhite's power?
The next time he came down, he grabbed her roughly by the hair and pulled her to her feet. Her arms were still tied behind her back, and her legs felt like jelly from being held in such an awkward position for so long.
"Time to move you to a safer place," he said, his voice low and menacing.
Chloe struggled against him, but it was no use. He was too strong for her. All she could do was gag talk and try to wriggle out of his grip.
He laughed at her efforts, but he didn't let go. Instead, he tightened his grip on her, pulling her body against his. She could feel the heat of his skin, and it sent shivers down her spine.
"Stop struggling, Chloe," he whispered in her ear. "You're only making this harder on yourself."
And with that, he dragged her away, leaving her bound and gagged once again. Chloe's mind raced, trying to figure out how she could escape this nightmare. But for now, all she could do was wait and hope for an opportunity to arise.
