In this case, she's trying to find out who the gang of thieves are that have been stealing classic cars and selling them overseas.
She gets a tip on a suspect and, like she often does, she decides to go undercover. Dressed in her business suit complete with sexy pantyhose, Veronica sneaks into the backyard and house of the alleged criminal in hopes of finding evidence that will prove their guilt or innocence.
Tiptoeing through the house, Veronica finds a folder on the kitchen table with pictures of the stolen classic cars. She also finds notes with phone numbers and names of people, prices, etc., and realizes that this is indeed her man.
Just as she's about to respond, she hears someone walk in the front door. Quickly hiding in the hall closet, Veronica watches as the goon enters the kitchen and notices the file on the table is disheveled and missing. The tension builds as he starts looking around and snooping himself.
Veronica peers out of the closet door, sees the goon getting ready to walk into the garage and tries to make a run for it. But he hears her and pounces in an instant, demanding to know who she is and why she's there. Despite her repeated denials of any wrongdoing, when he asks why she would need to "hide in the closet" of a friend's house, it's checkmate.
