John woke up, his vision still blurry. He tried to focus on the room around him. It looked like a clinic of some sort, sterile and white. A nurse was standing over him with a sympathetic smile. "Hi there, you've been asleep for quite a while," she said softly. "How are you feeling?"
John cleared his throat, trying to think straight. "I'm... confused," he admitted. "What happened?"

The nurse stepped back, giving him some space. "I understand if this is all new to you," she said kindly. "Why don't you take a look for yourself?" She gestured towards a full-length mirror set up against one wall.
With shaking hands, John swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up. He took a tentative step towards the mirror, his heart pounding in his ears. He couldn't believe what he saw.
