Chapter 12: My Ever Growing Bond

The sun was dipping below the horizon by the time Sarah returned home from her day of classes. She hadn't been in the best of moods all day; her classes had been more challenging than usual, and she had gotten lost on her way back from campus. Now, as she approached her apartment building, she couldn't shake off the feeling of unease that had followed her all day.

Stepping into her apartment, she was relieved to find that everything seemed to be in order. Her roommate was out for the night, and there were no strange noises coming from anywhere. Still, Sarah couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. She changed into her pajamas and crawled into bed, intending to read for a while before going to sleep.

As she picked up her book, she heard a soft knock at her door. "Come in," she called out, not bothering to hide her irritation. She didn't expect visitors this late in the evening, and the thought of talking to anyone made her even more tense.

The door opened slowly, and Sarah's heart skipped a beat as she saw who it was. Standing in the doorway was Mark, her ever-growing giantess friend. He was towering over her, his feet barely fitting in the door frame. His eyes were soft and gentle, and there was a warm smile on his face.

"Hey there, Sarah," he said softly, his deep voice rumbling through the room. "I hope I'm not disturbing you too much. I just wanted to check on you and see if you were doing alright."

Sarah swallowed hard, trying to calm her racing heart. She wasn't used to being this close to someone so much taller than her, but there was something about Mark that made her feel safe and secure. "It's... fine," she managed to say. "I was just a bit tired and on edge today."

Mark stepped further into the room, his massive frame filling up the space. He sat down on the edge of her bed, his legs dangling over the side. "Is there anything I can do to help?" he asked, his voice full of concern.

Sarah hesitated before answering. She didn't want to burden him, but she also couldn't shake off the feeling that something was wrong. "I don't know," she said honestly. "I just feel... off, I guess. Like there's something I'm missing or something."

Mark nodded understandingly. "That sounds tough," he said. "If there's anything specific you want to talk about, I'm here to listen."

As they talked, Sarah found herself opening up to Mark in a way she hadn't with anyone else before. They talked about her classes, her friends, and even some of her childhood memories. And as she talked, she couldn't help but notice how comfortable she was with him.

When she finally closed her book and turned off the light, Sarah felt a strange sense of peace wash over her. She knew that she still had a long way to go before she figured out what was going on, but somehow, just having Mark there made her feel like everything would be alright.

As she drifted off to sleep, she couldn't help but think about how much her life had changed since she met Mark. She had always been fascinated by the idea of giants, but never in her wildest dreams had she imagined that she would actually become friends with one. And yet, here they were, sharing late-night conversations and confidences, their bond growing stronger with each passing day.
